Welcome to

the month of

According to the Gregorian calendar, July is the seventh month. On the Roman calendar, it was the fifth month and it was called 'Quintilis', menaing 'fifth'. Julius Ceasar gave the month 31 days in 46 B.C. The Roman Senate named it 'Julius', in honor of Caesar.

July is usually the hotest month of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. July is one of the winter months in the Southern Hemisphere. The climate is mild in most of the Southern Hemisphere, with the exception of the COLD Antarctica, and the cold, rainy part of South America.

During July, when there isn't much rain, the grass often loses it's greenness. Some flowers are abundant in July, because they strive on the heat. Also, insects are abundant as well - life is striving in July!

Independence Day is observed in the United States on July 4. On that day in 1776, the Continental Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence

The Ruby is the gem for July.

The water lily is the flower for the month of July.

All the adversity I've had in my life, all my troubles

and obstacles, have strengthened me... You may

not realize it when it happens, but a kick in the

teeth may be the best thing in the world for you.

I love inspirational quotes.

They are powerful nuggets of

wisdom condensed into 1-2 lines.

Whenever I read them,

I am inspired to take action.

You spend most of your life running after things,
 and doing things.
You forget that being comes before doing.

Those who remember this secret make an effort to "be" and discover that when they stop and observe,
life helps and brings whatever is needed.

Learning to be is learning to be at peace.
It is our most fundamental nature.

I hope everyone had a good weekend. We had really

bad weather and had a land hurricane come thru

our area late Friday afternoon. It was scary. It has

left thousands upon thousands out of power. There were

trees down on power lines everywhere. They have reported

now that our area sustained 85 MPH winds. Many folks will

not get their power restored anywhere from 2 to 8 more

days. Such a hardship - many are suffering - and our 90

plus degree days are to continue the rest of the week.

The last count I heard was the storm has left 10 dead.

Our home was spared of any damage and how we managed

to keep our power is beyond me. We had a lot of clean

up to do. Please pray for those with no power.

Thank you for joining me again today - and happy July

to everyone. Please join me again tomorrow and until

then, be safe, be aware of everything and everyone

around you - now I wish ........

HAPPY TRAILS TO YOU
