The Empty Tomb
Yes, the tomb was empty ....
Jesus was not within.
The grave could not hold Him
and now He lives again!
He lives so that we need not die
and bear our sins in sorrow.
Instead we'll live with him forever
in that blessed tomorrow.
For forty days He was seen by many
and their testimony's true.
They were to take the Gospel to all
the world and that includes me and you!

He's ALIVE!
The trial was a mockery,
... the outcome, a forgone conclusion.
He faced His accusers alone
... His friends fled in confusion.
The beating was sadistic
... the overall treatment brutal.
He faced His accusers alo
He said not a word,
... protesting would have been futile.
The soldiers carried out the sentence
... it seemed to give them pleasure
to crown Him with thorns
... they even spat on Him for good measure.
Still, He was silent
... mute before priests and king ...
Even hearing false accusations,
He said not a thing.
Innocent, but condemned,
He carried His own cross
... staggering under its load,
never counting it for loss.
After suffering hours of agony,
there on Golgotha's hill,
He asked that they be forgiven
... for, even then, He loved them still.
He said ... "It is finished" ... darkness
covered the world He came to save.
... His mother and his loved ones
laid Him in a borrowed grave.
But the grave couldn't hold Him
and on the third day He did arise!
He now lives in my heart
... for He truly is ALIVE!
