Where does the word March originate from?

The word 'March' comes from the Roman 'Martius'.

This was originally the first month of the Roman

calendar and was named after Mars, the god of war.

March was the beginning of our calendar year.

We changed to the 'New Style' or 'Gregorian

calendar in 1752, and it is only since then

when we the year began on 1st January.

Low-Fat Strawberry Surprise

 

1 box angel food cake mix or 1 pre-baked angel food cake

1 pkg. Jello sugar-free instant vanilla pudding

2-1/2 cups nonfat or low fat milk

1 container (8 oz.) non-fat whipped topping

Strawberries, sliced, as many as desired

 

Bake cake according to package directions. Let cool.
 Mix instant pudding and milk. Add whipped topping; mix well.
Slice cake into 12 pieces. On each serving, place a pile of
strawberries and top with pudding mixture.

Well, I have completed my first day of volunteer training and

many of you asked if I would keep you updated. The session went

well - everyone was really nice and upon leaving - the person

who was teaching me the ropes said I got a A+ and that he

wished he had 4 of me! WOW! That was quite a high compliment!

Made me feel really good!

So, all is going in the right direction and I really feel I am going

to enjoy it. Such a walk in the park compared to my 911 dispatching.
