A Great Place To Be Inspired

Spring Greetings!

The vernal equinox arrived at 1:14 A.M. (ET) this morning,
 marking the earliest start to spring in 116 years.

The Sun crosses the celestial equator going northward;
it rises due east and sets due west.

Wind northeast or north at noon of the vernal equinox,
no fine weather before midsummer.

If westerly or southwesterly, fine weather till midsummer.

The word “equinox” is derived from the Latin for “equal night.”
Day and night are each approximately 12 hours long.

Enjoy the longer days!
Yepeeeeee! It's Spring!

Thoughts and Quotes

The season of renewal and rebirth is upon us.

Like a newborn baby, this season brings with it the

sweetness of new beginnings and endless possibilities.

~ Unknown

And Spring arose on the garden fair,
like the Spirit of love felt everywhere;
And each flower and herb on earth's dark breast
rose from the dreams of its wintry rest.

~ Percy Bysshe Shelley

All through the long winter, I dream of my garden.

On the first day of spring, I dig my fingers deep into

the soft earth. I can feel its energy, and my spirits soar.
~ Helen Hayes

Hoe while it is spring, and enjoy the best anticipations.

It is not much matter if things do not turn out well.

~Charles Dudley Warner

No winter lasts forever;

no spring skips its turn.

~Hal Borland

Science has never drummed up quite as effective

a tranquilizing agent as a sunny spring day.

~W. Earl Hall

Springtime is the land awakening.

The March winds are the morning yawn.

Today's Recipe

Chocolate-Peanut Butter-Oatmeal Munchies

2/3 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup quick-cooking oats
 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
 1 egg
 1 roll (16.5 oz) Pillsbury® refrigerated chocolate chip cookies
1/4  cup miniature candy-coated chocolate baking bits
1/4 cup sweetened dried cranberries
 1/4 cup chopped salted peanuts

1 Heat oven to 350°F. In large bowl, stir together peanut butter, oats, oil and egg. Break up cookie dough; add to peanut butter mixture. Add remaining ingredients; stir until well mixed.

2 On ungreased cookie sheets, drop dough by heaping tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart. Press with fingers to flatten slightly.

3
Bake 13 to 15 minutes or until golden brown and edges are just set (tops will not look done). Do not over bake. Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheets to cooling racks.

For variety, you could use raisins instead of dried cranberries,
and chopped pretzels instead of peanuts.
Store these moist cookies in an airtight container.
