With the sweep of President Woodrow Wilson's pen, Arizona's 277-mile-long Grand Canyon became a U.S. National Park in 1919. Once considered a holy site by the Pueblo people, its steep, multicolored walls reveal 2 billion years of geological history.

Woody Guthrie wrote one of the United States' most famous folk songs, "This Land Is Your Land," in 1940. The beloved melody is loosely based on the Baptist gospel hymn "Oh, My Loving Brother".

High-tech entrepreneur and future billionaire Steve Jobs was born in San Francisco in 1955. Before co-founding Apple Inc., the college dropout had contemplated becoming a monk.

In a studding upset, the underdog U.S. Hockey team defeated the four-time gold-medal winning Soviet team at the XIII Olympic Winter Games in Lake Placid in 1980. Two days later, the "Miracle on Ice' players defeated another powerhouse - Finland - to win the gold.

At the 11th Academy Awards in 1939, 10-year-old actress Shirley Temple presented Walt Disney with a special Oscar - and seven miniature ones - in honor of the technical achievement in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Hope you enjoyed the colors today, I really like this song

playing a lot -- beautiful. One of my favorites.

I am including more pictures and quotes, as I feel they both

speak volumes to our minds and our eyes and do

help us to cope, understand, be inspired and appreciate life.

Please do join me again tomorrow as I close out

the month of February. Have a great day - and do

remember to be safe and always aware of everything

and everyone around you. So until tomorrow,
