The flower that blooms in adversity is the

rarest and most beautiful of all.

~ Walt Disney

I quote others to better express myself

Simplicity, patience, compassion.

These three are your greatest treasures.

Simple in actions and thoughts, you

return to the source of being.

Patient with both friends and enemies,

you accord with the way things are.

Compassionate toward yourself,

you reconcile all beings in the world.

~ Lao Tzu, Tao Te Chi

Things change. And friends leave.

Life doesn't stop for anybody.

~ Stephen Chbosky

It's all in the view. That's what I mean about

forever, too. For any one of us our forever could

end in an hour, or a hundred years from now.

You never know for sure, so you'd better

make every second count.

~ Sarah Dessen

Let the rain kiss you.

Let the rain beat upon your head with

silver liquid drops.

Let the rain sing you a lullaby.

~Langston Hughes

How many slams in an old screen door?

Depends how loud you shut it. How many slices

in a bread? Depends how thin you cut it. How

much good inside a day? Depends how good you

live 'em. How much love inside a friend? Depends

how much you give 'em.

~ Shel Silverstein

Life will break you. Nobody can protect you from

that, and living alone won't either,  for solitude will

also break you with its yearning. You have to love.

You have to feel. It is the reason you are here on earth.

You are here to risk your heart. You are here to be

swallowed up. And when it happens that you are broken,

or betrayed, or left, or hurt, or death brushes near,

let yourself sit by an apple tree and listen to the

apples falling all around you in heaps, wasting

their sweetness. Tell yourself you tasted

as many as you could.

~ Louise Erdrich

That it will never come again is

what makes life so sweet.

~ Emily Dickinson

Life, he realize, was much like a song.

In the beginning there is mystery, in the

end there is confirmation, but it's in the

middle where all the emotion resides

to make the whole thing worthwhile.

~ Nicholas Sparks

 A  NOTE  FROM  ME

Happy Friday everyone and I hope you did have your umbrella handy today. It has been a week of many comments, guest book entries and even suggestions for me. I always welcome those suggestions, and always take them into consideration. Right now I spend anywhere from 3 to 5 hours on each of my pages! I think I can officially be considered hooked and addicted! Again, thank you to a understanding hubby but a impatient kitty who thinks I should be playing with her and not tapping and clicking away on my keyboard! I consider her my break time, some days more than others .... but anyway, I am glad I have the time to devote here. I enjoy.

Well, it is time to sign off for the week - so here is wishing you a nice weekend. Do join me again Monday as on Wednesday I will be noting ole George Washington's birthday and Ash Wednesday. On Thursday I have my orientation/training for my volunteer job I landed at a new medical center just 3 minutes from my home. I get a uniform blouse/shirt issued to me and will be able to wear black pants and my sneakers! That makes me a happy camper. I am looking forward after nearly two years of being retired to spending a few hours again with the public, and lending a helping hand. No pay, but hey! Where would this world be without volunteers? I will let you all know how it goes.

You can go to the link below and click on

"about the Medical Center"

at the top of the page if you are interested.

Enough babbling for now,

I will let you all get to your weekend.

Thank you again for your support for what I do here.

Be safe, be always aware of everything and

everyone around you. I got my umbrella!

Be back Monday!
