Thoughts and Quotes
To Inspire
All quotes today by: ~Ralph Marston~

People will quickly tire of you telling them only what you
assume they want to hear. To have truly momentous impact,
tell them what you really think and know and feel.

You are delightfully unique and that uniqueness provides you
with more than enough great value to last a lifetime. Follow
your intuition, be who you truly are, and allow that value
To freely flow.

Breathe in the sweet, fresh air of possibility in each new
moment. The happier you allow yourself to be, the more great things you can give to all of life.

The opinions of others can be interesting and instructive.
Just be sure not to let someone elses opinion limit you or
define you.

Get up, go forward and show the world the fascinating,
unique person you really are. Live life on your own terms,
from your own perspective, and create your very own
greatness.

My Picks For Today

It’s apple season—the kind that grow
on trees, not the latest iPhone.

Some are stashed in the root cellar, alongside the homegrown cabbages and carrots. (Apples store best in a cold, humid environment—never on a kitchen counter.)

We eat apples fresh,
baked (stuffed with walnuts, drizzled with honey and a little cinnamon), in sauce(s), in poultry stuffings, cut up and sauteed as a side dish, and in pies and pandowdies. Some of us also make our own cider (including hard cider, drink of choice of our Colonial ancestors).

Fresh apples, too, have uses around the house—such as softening a hard lump of brown sugar. And, yes, the old adage, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away,” bears fruit! A growing body of research shows that apples may help prevent health problems, including cardiovascular diseases, Alzheimer’s, asthma, allergies, diabetes, and osteoporosis.

  From the
Old Farmer’s Almanac: “Baked apples have an excellent effect upon the whole physical system, feeding the brain as well as adding to the flesh, and keeping the blood pure; also preventing constipation and correcting a tendency to acidity, which produces rheumatism and neuralgia..” –A Tip from The 1898 Old Farmer's Almanac
So, eat up!
