A big welcome today - you will always find

Today, I dedicate my page

September 29th, their wedding anniversary.
Congratulations, that is true love!

IMPORTANT OCTOBER 1ST EVENTS

Free rural delivery of mail began in
the united states 1896.

The first "Model T" Ford was
put on the market in 1908.

Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States
was born in Plains, GA., 1924.

October is the tenth month of the year. October was the 8th month in the early Roman calendar. October has had 31 days since the time of the Roman emperor Augustus.

The first front usually happens in October in the North Temperate Zone. Leaves change to their brilliant colors, and begin to fall, making the ground a beautiful haven of color. The farmers have to finish harvesting of the crops, but winter isn't here yet. The cold won't stay. In fact, we will still have warm days ahead.

Most birds have left for the south by the first frost, but the sparrows love the weather. They are seed eaters, and eat many weed seeds that would otherwise damage the next field crops.

Farmers bring in the last of the fall crops and either store or ship them to other parts of the world. In some parts, apples and grapes are still on the trees and vines. Many apples are harvested at the end of October.

Football usually dominates the scene in October. Hockey also begins it's season in October. And, the World Series will steal some of the spotlight from other sports.

My Picks For Today

My top pick for animation ....

Jack-O-Lantern

Cheese Ball

This is a festive Halloween appetizer that everyone will love. It looks like a pumpkin and has delicious pumpkin and cheese flavor.

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

4 oz pkg cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup solid pack pumpkin

1/2 cup pineapple preserves

1/4 tsp ground allspice

1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

1 pretzel rod broken in half

Decorations: Dark rye bread, red pepper,

black olive slices and parsley springs

Serve with your favorite assortment of crackers

Beat cheeses, pumpkin, preserves and spices in a medium bowl until smooth. Cover, refrigerate 2-3 hours or until cheese is firm enough to shape. Shape mixture into a round pumpkin. Place on serving plate. Using knife, score vertical lines down pumpkin. Place pretzel rod on top for stem. Cut 2 small triangles for the eyes with rye bread. Small triangle of red pepper for nose. Slice olives in half for the mouth. Cover loosely. Refrigerate until serving time.

While we are in the kitchen, let's make our own
homemade disinfectant wipes!

Ingredients:
1 roll of paper towels
Favorite cleaning solution
Empty wipes container
1 1/2 cups of water

DIRECTIONS:
Cut the roll of paper towels in half with a bread knife and then remove cardboard tube. In the empty wipes container, add 1 1/2 cups of water and 1/2 cup of cleaner. This is ideal for any cleaning area, and I usually carry one of the plastic grocery bags with me for used wipes for cleaning outside or larger areas at once.
Happy cleaning!

Here is hoping everyone had a good weekend. Mine was good
and included some Fall yard work, a win by our high school
and Ohio State football teams and a bike ride. Hearing the
crunching of the leaves under the bike tires and enjoying
all the colors coming alive in the wooded areas of the bike
path was most enjoyable and relaxing. I am looking
forward to more time on the paths before the weather
turns to cold to bundle up and ride.

Thank you all for joining me again today and please do
share my pages with family, friends and groups. Spread
the inspiration! Now, do have a good day, and join
me again tomorrow ... be safe and always aware of
everything and everyone around you. Till another
time, I always wish ....
