NOTE FROM ME

Today as I walked the path of Internet heaven, I stumbled upon

some Norman Rockwell paintings. Now I share along with some

of his words of wisdom and humor.

No man with a conscience can

just bat out illustrations. He's got to put

all his talent and feeling into them!

~ Norman Rockwell

Right from the beginning,

I always strived to capture everything

I saw as completely as possible.

~ Norman Rockwell

The secret to so many artists living so long

is that every painting is a new adventure.

So, you see, they're always looking ahead

to something new and exciting.

The secret is not to look back.

~ Norman Rockwell

When I go to farms or little towns, I am

always surprised at the discontent I find. And

New York, too often, has looked across the sea

toward Europe. And all of us who turn our

eyes away from what we have are missing life.

~ Norman Rockwell

Some people have been kind enough to call

me a fine artist. I've always called myself

an illustrator. I'm not sure what the

difference is. All I know is that whatever

type of work I do, I try to give it my very best.

Art has been my life.

~ Norman Rockwell

And in ending, a quote ABOUT Norman Rockwell

that is well stated .......

"Rockwell's art mirrors our world - or at least an ideal,

slightly lost version of that world . . . . Mom and

apple pie are very good institutions, and so was

Rockwell's America - despite the presumed

shortcomings of its seeming simplifications.

Rockwell was really a very fine artist. He

captured in ways no one else has how America

was, and how a large part of it wants to be."

~ Robert A. M. Stern.

Recipe – Chili/Salsa Dip

In an 8x8 pan:

 1)  Spread in bottom of pan - 1 package (8 oz.) Philadelphia Cream Cheese

2)  Cover cream cheese with 1 can ready made Chili – I use either Campbell’s or Heinz

3)  Spread 6-8 tablespoons salsa over Chili

4)  Cover with shredded cheese (I use Mozzarella)

Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 25-30 minutes or until cheese is melted.

Serve warm with Frito Scoops or Tortilla Chips.
